Spring Onions are also known as Welsh Onions, Bunching Onions, and Japanese Bunching Onions. They are not technically the same things as Green Onions or Scallions.
Culture – Direct sow 5-10mm deep to rows, thin to 2 onions per cm. 30cm between rows. Or grow seedlings in groups of about 10 and transplant to at least 10cm between bunches. Keep ground weed free and water regularly for best results. Hilling up or mulching against stems can promote additional elongation and blanching. Overwintered spring onions will bolt the following Spring.
